Big News
posted by NikiJI got some big news for you today.
I´ve joined Full Tilt Poker as one of their pro, so from now on I´m gonna be “in red”.
I´m really excited about it since I love to play on FTP and there are lots of cool people involved.
That means, however, that I´m not going to continue to write my blog on this site, it will most likely go to my FTP player page. Stay tuned for more info on that.
I´ve also been playing quite alot and you´ll get to see some hand histories once again.
I´ve been playing quite a bit 1k-2k Limit holdem on FTP, and won about 120k 2 days ago.
Then I played some Omaha yesterday with my super cool new account and won another 60k.
Today, sadly, my luck should change.
I´ve been playing ridiculously well (LOL) and managed to lose yet.
I´m really proud of myself for not losing twice or more of the amount I eventually lost, and it´s a great feeling to know you outplayed your opponents ( even if you´re wrong in that assumption). Always good to give your ego some satisfaction.
Anyways, pokerhand.org was goofing around a little in the end and I wasn´t able to save all the hands but here are a few.
Not too special, but tough beat.

Very loose call preflop, flop play pretty standard.

Good read!

Ugh, mean setup imo, especially against Gus.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1534513
Think I played this hand very well, eventhough I contemplated in the chat, I was never folding.

COOLER!
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1534556
When checking the odds it turns out I´m not as big of a favourite as I thought, just another gamble for lotta $$$.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1534564
Not too special once again.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1534772
Got lucky to avoid a huge losing session.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1534810
GRRR, I was on my comeback.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1534896
Hmmm, I realize that those HHs aren´t very exciting, thats the reason I usually don´t post any.
Anyways, it was a rollercoaster session with my peek was being down 530k and being “just” a 220k loser in the end. I´m not happy with the result, but very happy with how I played and how I´m taking the result.
Poker is so much about psychology and attitude towards the game, that pure playing skill often becomes a small factor in someones success.
I don´t wanna sound like an old man at only 20, but if there is one poker advise I could give, it would be to always analyze your sessions and play in general, but do it with honesty.
Accepting certain flaws of your game will make you want to improve them, that in turn will make you into a better player and that will turn you into a happy person, realizing you can only make an effort to play your best, and everything else is out of your control anyways.
Enough cheesy wise words for one blog entry,

Rebuy Festival
posted by JediHi allerseits,
Stefan

posted by NikiJSpent the day railing and shopping (didn´t actually buy anything).
Played a little bit as well, starting out great when I played 1 single hand in the morning taking LarzLuzaks stack, after the hand we both didn´t feel like playing anymore.
What happened basically was this:
I raised KK9h5h on the button and he reraised, I called. Flop came down KhTh4x.
He bet about 6k, and I just called trying to look weak and getting an aggressive player to bet the turn again with something that would beat a draw. Turn came a 7x and he bet the pot and called my all in with AA, not too special of a hand, but at least some content for my blog ;)
Now I played a longer session where I started out playing very well and winning a little, but somehow lost momentum and started running bad against Gus Hansen playing HU, and he took me for about 100k, combined with losses at the full tables I end the day down about 130k.
Not too much since I did good the past 2 days but very frustrating because Gus really sucked out on me in most of the big pots, allthough he also played pretty well.
Anyways, had a good day, could be worse, leaving tomorrow, that about sums it up.

EPT - OUT
posted by NikiJLittle update from London.
I´m out of the EPT, and I deserve it. I played horribly from the beginning, being a little bored, 3-barreling every pot, raising every limper.
I got lucky to stay in as long as I did, and was actually happy to get out ;)
I have to work on motivating myself for certain events.
Online Poker is good though, I played a little yesterday after the EPT and managed to win another 140k ish. It feels soooo nice to have 2 winning sessions in a row after a losing streak.
Aside from that, it has mostly been Chinese Poker with the Germans here for me, losing a little but having fun. It´s a little embarrassing how much amusement I sometimes take out of this complete waste of time.
I´ll stay here another day, rail some friends in the tournament and play some more online. After that it´s back home to play the tournament series at the Concord in Vienna followed by the EPT in Baden.

London yet again
posted by NikiJEventhough I hate it when people do this, I´m gonna write a blog about updating my blog.
I will try to update more often!!!
My last entry was over a week ago and I apologize for that. Not much has happened, what I did lately basically was crushing the 25-50 PLO at stars big time and passing on my winnings in the 200-400PLO at FullTilt.
Today I finally made a score again just getting on a huge rush in both the stars and the FTP game. Winning about 50k on Stars and 250k on FTP in just one hour. I hit every single flop and my hand held up in every big pot I played.
Obviously I avoided making big mistakes but this win still doesn´t mean anything looking at my level of play at the moment. Let´s see if I can jump on a big heater once again.
Aside from that, I decided very spontaneously to play the EPT London, so since I wasn´t home when I did, I don´t even have any clothes with me. Pity on my opponents, should I make it deep.
that is it for now, wish me luck-

I hate myself!
posted by NikiJMan I´m sick!
Played the big PLO games on FullTilt again today and got off to a great start to win over 200k at today´s high point, only to go on a little tilt and get unlucky a few times to end the day up about 10k.
I really hate myself for the lack of discipline I show sometimes.
Aside from that, life is very good.
I´m finally back home in Vienna, and I love it. The weather hasn´t been to good lately, but I get to see some friends, eat good food and sleep in my own bed.
Very happy to be here and be able to relax after all the travelling.
Also, I´ve had some offers regarding sponsorship due to me showing my face in the live circuit and I´m confident that something good will come out of it.

went from being up 220k to being down 150k.
good night

London Update
posted by NikiJSo I was doing good in the HORSE.
Had a rollercoaster day 2 with me being down to less than 2k a couple of times and coming back again to well over 30k, but in the end a lack of both skill and luck prevailed to put me out of my misery (not really actually) a few spots from the money.
As I mentioned, not really a misery as I really enjoyed getting to know all these new games, it was both interesting and entertaining.
I definitely plan to play a few HORSE events in the near future, there just aren´t alot outside the USA, so I´ll probably have to settle on the WCOOP 5k event.
To most people, me busting out of a HORSE tournament doesn´t come as a big surprise, but you would expect me to do well at PLO.
No such luck today as I am out of the 5k pound event as well.
As this is PLO, I cannot even tell you a great bad beat story.
I got off to a good start but lost it all in a giant pot to someone who decided to gamble for most of his chips preflop with AJJT, calling 27k at 200-400 being invested for 1400.
Oh well, I´ll rather win the 10k pound NL anyway.
Aside from that, it was a fun day involving a nice dinner with Roland and Ilari, some chinese poker (expensive dinner), a little railbirding, and meeting the famous SBRugy to go with Taylor Caby and Ezra from Cardrunners.
I just found out that Thomas Bihl won the HORSE bracelet in a HU battle against Jen Harman.
Congratulations to him, who I don´t know at all, despite him being german and friends with lots of people I know quite well.
Grats to Jennifer as well, who I played quite a bit with during the tourney and who I was rooting for as she seems like a really nice person.

London- H.O.R.S.E.
posted by NikiJHey Im in London at the moment.
Very tired so Ill make this short.
I was so bored I decided to play the HORSE event.
Its actually kinda fun and interesting to play all these new games, and I think Im learning the basic strategies very fast.
Day1 is over and I have exactly the avarege of 20k chips. Half of the field is gone and I can at least claim to have outlasted some great players. For instance Doyle Brunson who I had the pleasure of playing with today.
Anyways, London is ugly as usual, way too expensive with way too much traffic.
Im also losing a little online.
Look out for me, I think I have good chances in the HORSE if I can focus and dont get to make too comlicated decisions.
Later,
Niki
