Downswing

On a 7-figure downswing, not winning any pots and losing a lot on tilting.
Will maybe go down in limits for a while after my break, I´ve done a bet that I wouldn´t play online poker for a while and it´s not just for money but for the real torture:
playing the lowest limit holdem game on FullTilt until I have made a certain amount of money.
This sounds like pure pain and will motivate me not to play and eventually very likely save me money.
However I´m allowed to play chinese poker online which I´ve done quite a bit lately and am a little up. It can be very entertaining and hopefully will distract me from real poker for a while.
I´ve also thought about taking a spontaneous holiday but there´s not really enough time since I´m flying to Barcelona on the 27th with my brother for the EPT event.
I will be a lot of fun since I´m gonna meet even more people I only know from playing online and tons of cool people I already know will be there as well.
I´m looking forward to chilling at the beach a little each day, eating delicious see food and playing some chinese poker. Oh, I might actually get something going in the tournament with a little luck and a little more motivation than in London.
My careless approach to tournaments is really stupid once the buyin reaches 8000 euros, lots of money for a few hours of entertainement.
Wish me luck, may my will be strong enough to overcome my addiction to 4card- gambling.

ich weiß nicht ob dir das hilft….wenn ich merke..dass es kein winning-day ist…dann setz ich einen betrag fest…wenn ich 2 buy-in verloren habe…höre ich für den tag auf zu zocken…bei mir wären das 50 und bei dir 80k^^

Hoi Niki,
interessante Entwicklung hast du da vollzogen. Hab deinen Bruder und dich schon während der Magiczeit “beobachtet” - Erfolg in Prag usw.
Mich würde interessieren mich welchem “Startkapital” du in die Pokerszene eingestiegen bist, oder hast du einfach das Geld vom Austrian Masters verwendet ? Wäre über eine Email erfreut.

habs nebnbei gesehen was bei dir gelaufen is waren paar echte suckouts aber dein a game wars auch nicht.
gute entscheidung jezt mal pause zu machen. sowas wirkt wunder

pS: des mit die turniere is imma so wenns im cashgame gut rennt und is imma unsinn. egal wie klein oder groß in summe aufs leben kann ma damit halb afrika ernähren .-)

chinese poker online halte ich für ne schlechte Idee. Bei dem Spiel funktionieren Bots oder ähnliche Hilfsprogramme ja perfekt :/

hi niki,
downswing is verdammt k***e - bei mir zZt nicht anders.
weder turniermässig noch cashgame-mässig lauft irgendwas.
egal welche hand ich spiele - ich treff nix - und hohe pockets (JJ;QQ;KK;AA) - serienmässig verloren.
ich schließ mich an und mach auch pause. (ok - das 550er nächste woche im cc lass ich mir nicht entgehen.)
aber dann ist wirklich pause angesagt bis zur austrian classics.
auch online laufts nicht gerade berauschend.
zuerst hatte ich einen upswing auf 10k und im endeffekt bin ich mit -2k ins bett gegangen.
trotzdem - gl 2 u,stefan und peter (sofern er den flieger genommen hat *g*).

und vergiss ned das die meisten pros jahre wenn nicht länger brauchen um 3,3 mio überhaupt zu gewinnen geschweige denn netto plus zu haben
das das ganze viel mit lauf zu tun hatte is ja auch logisch weil so groß kannst du nie im vorteil sein das knappe 100 max buyin plus reines können sind…

Find noones Vorschlag auch sehr gut mit dem Investieren, kann auf keinen Fall schaden und du hast immernoch ne dicke Grundlage.

Have to say you have quite impressive results in your pokerplaying!
From what I read you sound both realistic and smart.
As a pokerplayer myself, I have an advice that I hardly follow myself:
When you have won a lot of money like you have(?), the best ting to do is:
take the most of your bankroll away and put it into some safe investments, and don’t thouch your investments!
That way you will always have a steady income, whatever happens at the pokertables.
I’ve seen a lot of young talented people going to the top…..and down again.
Guess not this will happen to you, but anyway when times are getting hard, it is good to have something left, and not only memories.
